Auto Shutdown Timer is a very compact shutdown manager. It is a little utility that can be used to shutdown your system automatically when you are not around to do it yourself. There are three other actions available other than shutting down your system: log off, reboot, and run file. These actions can be called by using either a countdown or setting a specific time. The countdown can only be set in minutes, and the max is 9999 minutes, or 166 hours. That is a lot of time, but it would be easier for the user to input a countdown in the form of hours, minutes, seconds.
There are a couple of other interesting options. Auto Shutdown Timer can be set to start with the system and to be minimized to the try. Also, the application can turn off your computer monitor to save energy. The most salient feature that I found is what is called "Diminuendo". It can be used to lower your system's volume constantly. Evidently, the developer of this app went to bed listening to music on the computer and wanted a nice way of gradually turning off the volume before shutting the PC down completely. It is a nice and original addition to this kind of application and I had not seen it before.
In short, Auto Shutdown Timer is not the most complete automatic shutdown solution out there. But it has the basic set of features and a few original additions that make it more than suitable for setting your computer up to turn off itself after a period of time or at a given time.
